Why Nanoose Residents Choose Big Mike
Being out in Nanoose, Fairwinds, or Nanoose Bay often means it's less convenient to run errands into Nanaimo or Parksville—especially when you're already dealing with a computer that's not working. That's exactly why pickup and drop-off matters so much out here.

- Upfront: I keep surprise charges to a minimum—you know the cost before I start
- Local: A Nanoose-area computer technician who passes through regularly and has served customers throughout the area for years
- Flexible: On-site or in-shop, whichever works better for you
How It Works
1. Give Me a Call
Tell me what's going on with your computer. I'll ask a few questions to get a sense of the problem before we arrange pickup.
2. Pickup
I'll arrange a time to pick up your computer from your Nanoose home or business. If I'm already coming through on another job there's no charge; otherwise it's a flat $10 for the round trip.
3. Clear Diagnosis & Quote
Once I've had a look, I'll explain what's wrong and give you a fair quote before doing any work.
4. Repair & Return
I'll get the work done properly, then bring your computer back to you—fixed and ready to go.
Common Questions from Nanoose Customers
Do you really come all the way out to Nanoose?
Yes. I'm usually in the Parksville area a couple of times a week anyway, and Nanoose is on the way. If your repair isn't urgent, I'm happy to stop by on one of those trips, pick up your machine, and drop it back the same way — no charge for the running around.
If you need it sooner than that, no problem — it's only an extra ten bucks for the delivery. Give me a call and we'll sort out a time that works.
Can you fix it at my house, or does it have to go back to the shop?
Either way works. I can work on it right there at your place, or pick it up and bring it back when it's done.
Sometimes I'll start a job on-site and realize it's going to run long. When that happens it's usually cheaper for you if I take the machine back to my workspace and finish it there, rather than billing hours of me sitting in your living room. I'll always say so before I do it.
How long will I be without my computer?
For most virus removal and general repair work I aim for same-day turnaround, often one day or less. Some jobs run longer — a stubborn infection or a drive that's already failing takes what it takes.
I'll give you a realistic timeline once I've had a look, and arrange the drop-off back to Nanoose for a time that suits you.
My Wi-Fi doesn't reach the whole property. Can that be fixed?
Usually, yes. Out in Nanoose the lots are bigger and the houses are further from the road, so a single router sitting where the internet comes in often can't cover the whole place. Sometimes it's a matter of moving the router; sometimes it needs a second access point wired in properly rather than another plug-in extender that halves your speed. See Router & Network Setup for more on how that works.
Do you offer a warranty?
Any new parts I install carry a 1-year warranty, and my labour is covered for as long as you own the machine. If something goes wrong as a direct result of work I did, I'll make it right at no charge for my time.
